AFLA is a Johannesburg-based civil engineering firm specialising in the structural health of critical infrastructure. Founded in 2012 in technical partnership with SITES SAS (Paris) — pioneers in structural health monitoring since 1984 — AFLA continues this technical alliance while operating independently across South Africa.

We are a Level 2 BBBEE contributor, registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa, and certified to international quality and safety standards. Our safety culture has produced zero incidents across 14 years of plant work.

Bombela / Gautrain Rapid Rail

Continuous structural health monitoring and inspection of the Gautrain civil works infrastructure across stations, viaducts, retaining walls, embankments, fill slopes, culverts, and underpass structures. Recent scope includes 3D laser scanning of 14 retaining walls (~3km) between Pretoria and Hatfield, periodic embankment surveys, and culvert condition assessment under the master service agreement.
